Steel trap, part three

Cale: Hey daddy, I think we should both make music on our harmonicas.

Me: But I don’t know where mine is.

Cale: It’s in your bedroom.

Me: It is? Well I don’t know where it is in there.

Cale: It’s in that… what’s that white thing called next to the bed?

Me: The dresser?

Cale: Yeah, it’s in your dresser.

Me: Ok, I will go and look just to make sure.

(This whole time, I am still unconvinced of its location. I know it had been placed somewhere after taking it out from the truck one day, but that was a few weeks ago.)

Upon opening my armoire door (that’s really what he was talking about) there it was on one of the shelves. So I grab it and return to the family room.

Me: Hey Cale, do you know what it was next to in my dresser? (I ask if he knows what it was next to because I am wondering exactly how good this kid’s memory is.)

Cale: No, I don’t know.

Me: Do you know where it was in my dresser?

Cale: Yes.

Me: Can you show me?

Cale: Yes.

We walk to the bedroom, I open the armoire door, and ask him where it was in there.

He proceeds to lay his fingers down exactly where I picked it up from.

It had probably been at least a week since the last time he had viewed inside my armoire and then for him to remember exactly where one specific item was placed seems pretty incredible to me.

Me: You are very smart Cale, that is exactly where it was. Good job!
